December 12, 2017

On December 3rd, the Exceptional Families Network, a nonprofit that works with families with children who have special needs, hosted their annual Miss Exceptional Pageant in Puyallup, Washington with the help of Regal Majesty director Monica Berginc and regal’s royalty.

The program believes that ALL girls are exceptional and strives to promote confidence and personality in exceptional young ladies dealing with all types of disabilities, including autism or any disabling diagnosis.  It provides the opportunity for these young ladies to improve their self-confidence and social/communication skills.  Often times, girls struggle with self-esteem.  This is further heightened when they also have a special needs diagnosis.  The Miss Exceptional Pageant is a chance for them to be in the spotlight and feel great about themselves for exactly who they are...which is exceptional!

The Mistress of Ceremonies, Samantha Schubert, the 2017 Miss Puyallup Teen USA, has a brother with autism and Charcot Marie Tooth disorder.  Sami and her mom, Beth Schubert, are passionate about creating an approachable pageant for differently-abled girls, because everyone deserves to feel special.

A host of Regal Majesty queens showed up to help the contestants on stage, model their walks, help with introductions, and support these wonderful girls.  Among them International Woman Mandy Bruce, Washington Teen Zoe Brown, International Sr. High Point Claire Weddell, International Jr. High Point Shiloh Bassetti, Oregon Pre-Teen Emiley Hadley, Oregon Petite Hailley Samford, and Oregon Baby Karleigh Miles.
